What we’re building
In development · 2026A secondary-transition assessment and compliance platform for school districts. It sits alongside whatever IEP system a district already runs — administering age-appropriate transition assessments, connecting them to postsecondary goals and transition services, and checking that the required elements are present while the teacher writes rather than a year later at audit.
It covers grades 6 through 12, and it doesn’t stop at graduation.
Why
Transition planning is where special education most often falls short, and the shortfall is measurable. States report it every year. In Mississippi, 84 of 132 transition IEPs reviewed contained every required element in federal fiscal year 2023 — 63.64%, against a required target of 100%. It was the first year under a monitoring method that reviews student IEP files directly.
That gap is a paperwork and process problem before it is anything else, which means it is a solvable one.

Who’s behind it
Milemark Education, LLC is a Mississippi company, founded and run by a practicing high school special education teacher.
That is the whole of the claim. Transition IEPs, transition assessments, and the meetings where both get decided are familiar work here — not a problem read about in a report.
